JOTA 2010

53rd JOTA and 14th JOTI October 18th and 19th, 2010

Bangalore Amateur Radio Club – VU2ARC along with Lions Club International Amateur (Ham) Radio Club Station VU2LCI has set up both Jamboree on the Air and Jamboree on the Internet setup activity at the Bharat Scouts and Guides – Karnataka State HQ, Prof Shivashankar Circle, Next to Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore.

This year the event coincided with the Ayaduya Pooja and Dasara (Vijayadashami) festival weekend bringing down the volunteers, scout and Guide students to attend, still we had a gathering of Fifty and the activity was on VHF – 2 meter over the repeater where the Rastraya Vidyalaya School of Yelahanka children were linked, HF on 40m and 20m and Echolink were put on air.  We are glad to contact the International JOTA Station HB9S Switzerland and myself Lion Ajoy VU2JHM was lucky to have contact with PA3BAR Richard Middlekoop.  The Oman Scouts group did exchange greetings with children and did sing song. The JOTI – Jamboree on the Internet was also successful with limited internet facility provided by the State HQ.
